Knitters Pride Self Love Gift Set Review

Knitters Pride recently sent me a beautiful set of knitting needles to try out- The Self Love Gift Set! I was immediately drawn to the colors of this set. The happy pastel colors made me think of spring and flowers which make me so happy!

The set includes Interchangeable Needle Sizes US 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 10.5 & 11 with matte black connectors. The needles themselves are super smooth and easy to work with. I had no trouble slipping the yarn off as I worked my stitches! Plus, changing out the cables was a breeze too.

The Crafties- LoveCrafts’ 2019 Blogger Awards

Hi friends!!

It’s such an honor to have been nominated for the 2019 LoveCrafts’ Blogger Awards- Creative Crochet Blog! I started my little blog a few years ago, only posting every once in a while a silly photo of a finished item I crocheted.  I transitioned into writing my own crochet patterns a year or two later. I started selling my patterns on Etsy but wanted to be able to share some patterns for free on my blog as well. I would post a free pattern every few months or so but never went fully in on my blog. This year I started to really focus on pumping out and releasing free patterns for everyone to enjoy. It’s been a challenge and super fun at the same time. I love giving you guys free content!

Thank you guys for the support with my little business. I love sharing my crochet patterns with you all and I know you guys love it too!

I would love if you guys can vote for me to win the Creative Crochet Blog 2019 with LoveCrafts!

Unwind With Me- A Lion Brand Yarn Review

There’s nothing better than hearing the mailman pull up and opening the door to a big box of yarn from Lion Brand! I don’t know about you but I anxiously await my yarn delivery as soon as I click the order button. 🙂 Are ya with me? I have a few different yarns to show you all and some sweet patterns to go with it!

If you follow me on Instagram you know that I’ve been working with Lion Brand’s Basic Stitch Anti-Pilling yarn. You also already know that I LOVE it. I made The Cross Stripe Poncho with the Lion Brand Basic Stitch Anti Pilling yarn. You can find the free pattern here, and the PDF printable from Etsy here and Ravelry here!

Wool And The Gang New Wave Yarn

Being a crochet pattern designer, I’ve been able to try a bunch of different amazing yarns. I recently was sent some New Wave Yarn from Wool And The Gang to try out. You guys. This yarn is awesome! Here is a couple of reasons why.

  • It’s made from recycled plastic water bottles! Each ball of yarn contains 3 water bottles. How cool is that?!
  • Its stretchy and squishy, which makes it a breeze to work with!
  • Its light and soft which makes it perfect for garments and accessories (which are my fave!!)
  • It comes in a bunch of gorgeous colors! My bag is made from Duck Egg Blue but Im also loving the Mellow Mauve.
  • Its super easy to frog if you make a mistake! I missed a couple of stitches and had to pull out a row. No snagging or getting stuck!
  • The size! This bag is BIG! I do have a tendency to crochet on the loose side but still.. even if you crochet tighter, this bag is a decent size!

The kit I was sent is called The Shoreline Bag. It has a total of 15 recycled plastic water bottles in it! The texture of the yarn is almost net-like if you look real close. It’s nice and airy, perfect for summer beach days. I love that by just making this bag, its helping to reduce waste and save the oceans. 😉

I love the booklets the pattern comes in!

And if you are a knitter, you are in luck! They have a ton of cute knitting kits as well. Take a look here!

Will you be trying out some New Wave Yarn? 🙂

Pattern: Giant Granny Square cushion

When BeCozi sent me some of their super soft and cozy Chenille yarn, I knew I had to make something awesome with it! I know big chunky blankets are popular with this yarn but I wanted to do something a little bit different. I decided to go with a floor cushion for the girls to sit on (or who am I kidding…the dog to sleep on lol) but I didn’t want it to be basic and boring. I love granny squares so I knew I had to incorporate that into my design! I hope you guys enjoy the pattern.

Be sure to pin for later and tag me on Instagram so I can see your work!

Materials:

Notes:

  • Cushion is made in 2 panels and slip stitched together.
  • The front panel is a classic granny square. The back panel is double crochet rows.
  • The Ch 3 at the beginning of each round and row counts as 1 Dc.
  • The Ch 4 counts as 1 Dc and 1 Ch.

Pattern: Chain-Link Crochet Beanie

It’s a new year which means a bunch of new free patterns on the blog! I have a lot of fun stuff in the works for you all and to start it off i’m posting this super chunky beanie! Now, this beanie is a tiny bit different because i’m using a stitch that’s not technically a real stitch, I guess you could say. You’ve heard of the Center single crochet or “waistcoat” stitch right? well this uses that stitch except it’s “extended”. I’ve just added one more yarn over in the stitch. Below are a couple of video tutorials for you to get a visual. I promise its super easy!

Don’t forget to PIN the beanie and tag me on Instagram with your makes! 🙂

Materials:

  • Super Bulky (6) Yarn. Pattern uses Lion Brand Hometown USA. 130 yards needed for adult size.
  • 9.00mm Crochet Hook
  • Yarn Needle
  • PomPom (optional)

Boho Crochet Wall Hanging

Im finally back! I’ve been super busy the past few months taking care of my toddler and newborn baby girl who was born in May! My new blog kind of took the backseat for a little while. I have been crocheting as much as I can though and have a bunch of free patterns to post soon! Here’s something I recently finished and will be for sale at my upcoming craft fair next month.

I bought Molla Mills new book, Crochetterie: Cool contemporary crochet for the creatively-minded and love it! There is a bunch of fun patterns in this book and if you like tapestry crochet I definitely recommend it. I used one of her rug patterns, tweaked it a little bit and instead made it into a boho wall hanging. Then, I attached it to a piece of driftwood and added some little tassels to the bottom.

I have another wall hanging and a bunch of other things that I recently made and will be posting the patterns for them soon so check back and subscribe!
