Pattern: Men’s Team Colors Beanie

Every fall my husband asks for a new beanie to wear. This year he requested one with his football teams colors! This pattern is perfect for customizing to your favorite football team colors! Sean likes his beanies slouchy and stretchy. This one is really fast to make, it’s worked in rows to form a rectangle and then sewn together at the end. You can make it as slouchy or as fitted as you want by making your starting Ch longer or shorter. It’s also really easy to customize the colors you want and add as many colors as you would like!

Materials Needed:

  • Worsted Weight yarn in 3 or 4 colors.
  • 6.00mm crochet hook
  • Yarn Needle

Notes:

This hat is worked in rows and then sewn at the end to form the hat.

Pattern:

Ch 46

Row 1: 1 Hdc in 2nd Ch from hook and each Ch across. (45 Hdc) Turn.

Row 2: Ch 1. 1 Hdc in each St across, working in the 3rd loop only.

Row 3: Ch 1. 1 Hdc in each St across working in the BLO.

Repeat Rows 2&3 for a total of 40 rows. Follow the color changes with the colors of your choice below.

Color Changes:

Rows 1-4: grey

Row 5: black

Row 6: white

Rows 7-10: blue

Repeat the color changes (rows 1-10) for a total of 40 rows. You should have 4 color repeats.

Fold your work in half with the correct sides facing and your work inside out. Slip stitch the first and last rows or your hat together. Using your yarn needle, weave your yarn in and out at the end of the rows at the top of the hat. Pull yarn tight to close the top of the hat. Secure closure with a couple of knots. Tie off and weave in all ends. Turn your work correct side out.

Trim: Join yarn color of your choice at the bottom of the hat with a Sl St. Make Hdc stitches evenly around the bottom of the hat. Join with a Sl St to the first Hdc. Tie off, weave in remaining ends.
