Teddy Bear Blanket Pattern

I’m a little bit addicted to making c2c (corner 2 corner) blankets but I think you guys already know that lol. I’ve worked with the baby boucle yarn before for a cardigan pattern (the cozy boyfriend cardigan) and knew that It would be perfect for a teddy bear design. The teddy bear crochet blanket!

This blanket is a bit smaller than my other recent c2c’s and I think it’s the perfect size for baby or toddler! I think it would be an awesome handmade baby shower gift as well. The chunky yarn and smaller size makes it work up pretty quickly and only took me a couple weeks on and off to complete. Check out my other free c2c patterns- The Covered In Cats Afghan, The Draped In Dogs Afghan and Unicorn Dreams Afghan

I uses Lion Brand Color Made Easy for the main blanket and Baby Soft Boucle for the teddy bear. The Baby Soft Boucle is held double stranded. You won’t want to skip out on that part so be sure you hold 2 strands at once or the bear wont be big enough.

I also think it works great as a floor mat for babies and toddlers! The bulky yarn makes it extra squishy and soft. It’s definitely on the thicker side for a blanket! Like I said, perfect baby shower gift. 😉

Materials:

  • Bulky (5) Yarn, Color Made Easy in “Alabaster”, 900 yards, 4 skeins

  • Bulky (5) Yarn, Baby Soft Boucle in “Tan”, 820 yards, 7 skeins

  • 6.5mm Crochet Hook

  • Yarn Needle

Finished Size: 41X41”

Gauge: 4X4” square= 4 tiles by 4 tiles

Pattern Notes:

  • The graph is read from the bottom right corner to the top left corner. You will be working diagonally and reading the rows from left to right and then right to left.

  • Each square on the graph counts as one block. One block consists of one 3 Ch and 3 Dc.

  • You will be turning after every row.

  • When you reach the first corner you will no longer be starting an increase square on that side.

  • I recommend cross referencing with the graph throughout the pattern to make sure you are on track.

  • Your yarn is held double throughout the teddy bear portion of the graph.

  • You will have to unwind the 7th ball of yarn and wind into 2 separate balls to continue holding double.
