The Coffeeshop Cardigan

I’m super excited to be bringing you guys the new and improved Coffeeshop Cardigan! This pattern was one of my very first designs and was always a huge hit + top seller. It definitely needed a little face lift and some larger sizes added to it. It’s crazy how much you learn as a designer in just a couple of short years!

I’ve added more sizes to the design so now it goes from XS all the way to 5X! I also updated the construction of this sweater so there is a lot less seaming and sewing pieces together. Now, there is only 2 small sections up the side to seam. YAY! The sleeves have NO seaming!

The Coffeeshop Cardigan was inspired by all things cozy. It’s the perfect housecoat to throw on over leggings and an oversized tee. The homespun yarn gives it the perfect amount of rustic handmade feel. The pattern uses half double crochet throughout for easy stitching.

8 Free Crochet Valentine’s Day Patterns

Valentine’s Day is on it’s way so I thought I would put together a fun round up of free crochet patterns and tutorials! I don’t normally go all out with V-Day decorations but every single one of these patterns is making me want to pull out my pink yarn and get to hookin’!

To start us off I found this SUPER adorable Fuzzy Love Monster from Spin A Yarn Crochet. I really want to make one of these for each of the girls to give them on Valentine’s Day morning!

Pattern: Unicorn Dreams Afghan

Unicorns are a big craze right now with little girls, don’t you agree? I’m sure most people know somebody who is a unicorn lover! My girls inspired me to create the ultimate unicorn blanket and I’m so happy I did.

The Unicorn Dreams Afghan was a blast to make and actually works up pretty quickly for a blanket. The bulky yarn makes it extra squishy and soft. I held the Terryspun yarn double stranded for the unicorn. This is something you will want to do as well! It’s not thick enough on it’s own so be sure to hold 2 strands of yarn at the same time.

Pattern: The Strata Beanie

Have you ever tried a mandala yarn before? I’m sure the answer to that question is probably a yes, right? 😉 Well, when I saw the Mandala Tweed Stripes from Lion Brand I knew I had to check it out. I don’t normally gravitate towards striping yarns but something about these colors were calling to me. I’m a sucker for tweed! Somebody mentioned in my Instagram comments that the colors remind them of strata layers and I have to say, I definitely agree! The Strata Beanie pattern is fun and quick to make.

I incorporated some surface stitching which I think gives it the perfect finishing touch. Plus there are so many different colors you can use for different holidays! Red and green for a christmas beanie, white and pink for Valentines day, or maybe even make it in your school colors! I think it would be great in your team’s colors too!

Shop the ad-free PDF digital download in my shops on Etsy and Ravelry.

Description: This Strata Beanie Pattern is worked from the bottom up. The brim incorporates slip stitching for the perfect amount of stretch. The surface stitches add just enough detail for a fun and unique look. It’s also super easy to adjust length for your desired fit.

Pattern: Fab Faux Crochet Scarf

This Fab Faux Crochet Scarf was super fun to make! I wanted something warm and cozy to go around my neck and give it almost a cowl feel when its wrapped! I made this scarf in only a couple of nights, so you can definitely knock some out for holiday gifts quickly!

The main portion of the scarf uses the moss stitch. It gives it some gorgeous texture and is very simple to do! If you’ve never used “Go For Faux” before this scarf is a great beginner project for it. You are doing short rows of double crochet with it so it’s pretty easy to count your stitches.

Would you rather try out this scarf in knit? Well, good news! I have a free knit version available as well HERE!
