The Crafties- LoveCrafts’ 2019 Blogger Awards

Hi friends!!

It’s such an honor to have been nominated for the 2019 LoveCrafts’ Blogger Awards- Creative Crochet Blog! I started my little blog a few years ago, only posting every once in a while a silly photo of a finished item I crocheted.  I transitioned into writing my own crochet patterns a year or two later. I started selling my patterns on Etsy but wanted to be able to share some patterns for free on my blog as well. I would post a free pattern every few months or so but never went fully in on my blog. This year I started to really focus on pumping out and releasing free patterns for everyone to enjoy. It’s been a challenge and super fun at the same time. I love giving you guys free content!

Thank you guys for the support with my little business. I love sharing my crochet patterns with you all and I know you guys love it too!

I would love if you guys can vote for me to win the Creative Crochet Blog 2019 with LoveCrafts!

Pattern: Covered In Cats Afghan

Is there a crochet stitch or technique you’ve always wanted to try but never got around to doing? For me, that was corner 2 corner crochet.

I always saw so many beautiful c2c blankets while scrolling through Pinterest and always thought to myself…”hmmm I need to give that a try.” Well, I finally did and I guess you can call me a c2c addict now!! I’m so excited to show you guys my Covered In Cats Afghan!

What do you think? 🙂

Unwind With Me- A Lion Brand Yarn Review

There’s nothing better than hearing the mailman pull up and opening the door to a big box of yarn from Lion Brand! I don’t know about you but I anxiously await my yarn delivery as soon as I click the order button. 🙂 Are ya with me? I have a few different yarns to show you all and some sweet patterns to go with it!

If you follow me on Instagram you know that I’ve been working with Lion Brand’s Basic Stitch Anti-Pilling yarn. You also already know that I LOVE it. I made The Cross Stripe Poncho with the Lion Brand Basic Stitch Anti Pilling yarn. You can find the free pattern here, and the PDF printable from Etsy here and Ravelry here!

Pattern: The Cross Stripe Poncho

I had so much fun designing the Cross Stripe Poncho and I hope you guys love it! I used Lion Brand Basic Stitch Anti Pilling yarn which is amazing to work with. If you haven’t tried it yet I definitely recommend giving it a go! The pattern repeat on this is super easy. If you want a longer poncho just add an extra repeat on both panels. This pattern is also very beginner friendly. You are making two big rectangles and seaming together. The hood can be easily left off if you aren’t a fan. I also love that you can pick your own color palette for the stripes to add your own unique flair! Let me know what you guys think! 🙂

If you want a PDF printable version of the pattern you can find it in my Ravelry Shop and Etsy Shop!

Description: Whether you are at the beach or sitting around the campfire this poncho is the perfect piece to keep warm. The stripes give it a fun boho vibe and provides a great way to add your own unique colors. The optional hood is also easy to add!

Materials:

  • Worsted (4) Weight yarn. Lion Brand Basic Stitch. 6 skeins (1,110 yards) ecru (color A), 1 Skein (185 yards) Taupe Heather (Color B), 1 Skein (185 yards) Mustard (Color C), 1 Skein (185 y ards) Frost (Color D). Note- If you are not making the hood only 925 yards in Color A are needed.
  • 5.00mm Crochet Hook
  • Yarn Needle

Pattern: Cozy Boyfriend Cardigan

There is finally a chill in the air! I woke up this morning and it was cold enough for a cozy sweater while waiting at the bus stop with Evie! I’ve been keeping this pattern a secret for sooooo long. I finally get to share with you guys my “Cozy Boyfriend Cardigan” which is part of Lion Brands, 12 Weeks Of Christmas! I know, I know. Christmas seems so far away but it’s never too early to start making gifts right? Especially when they are handmade and take a bit more time. Yay for slow fashion!

My Cozy Boyfriend Cardigan is available as a kit from Lion Brand at a super awesome discounted price of 40% off! Use code “SAVE40SEPT” at checkout.  Go snag yours now so you can get started! Did you know you get a free printed PDF of my pattern when you buy the kit? Yup.

If you have the yarn but still want a pretty PDF to print out, grab it from my Etsy Shop or Ravelry Shop.

This design was inspired by the chunky oversized sweaters you see at the mall. I wanted it to be something you could throw on with leggings and a tee. The Boucle yarn gives it just the look I was going for! I know the Boucle yarn can sometimes be intimidating but if you take it slow, use stitch markers and count by feeling your stitches you will be fine!

Materials:

  • Baby Soft Boucle (bulky,5) Skeins needed 9(10,11,11,12,13,13). 1040(1120,1210,1290,1360,1450,1500) yards. I recommend buying the kit here.

  • 6.00mm Crochet Hook

  • Yarn Needle

It really is very simple if you already know how to crochet. Be sure to check out the video tutorial below if you are a visual learner! What other animals do you think would be cute on a Tunisian crochet pillow? A flamingo…a bear…a deer? So many options! I hope you guys like it!

Be sure to tag me on Instagram if you make one! 🙂

  • 10mm Tunisian Crochet Hook
  • Bernat Maker Outdoor yarn (5) Bulky weight. Main Color-165 yards, SecondColor- 50 yards
  • Yarn needle

Crochet Pattern: The Charlie Tank

I’m super excited to release this pattern and check another wip off of my list! I wanted to make a simple tank top but also didn’t want it to be too boring. You’ll be working through the back loops only throughout the pattern to give it a little flair! I used Lion Brand Merino Silk Cotton for this pattern and really liked it. It’s considered a weight of (1) but I honestly think it passes as more of a Sport/Dk (2 or 3). You should be able to meet gauge with a heavier weight yarn, so be sure to check!

If you make one, tag me on Instagram so I can share your work! 🙂

Materials:

  • Merino Silk Cotton Yarn (1) Superfine. Color- Olive. Yards needed- 450(480,520,570,630,690,770)

  • 3.50mm Crochet Hook

  • yarn needle

Pattern: Granny Stripes Table Runner

I was recently given some gorgeous rainbow cotton yarn from Hobbii Yarn! I decided something with granny stripes would look super cute with all of the colors! This mini table runner fits perfectly on the playroom table. You can easily adjust the width and length to make it any size! I was soooo close to changing my mind and making a little blanket but I didn’t have enough yarn. 🙂

Materials:

Pattern: The Marshmallow Pillow

My friends over at BeCozi sent me some of their ahhhhmazing Jumbo Chenille Yarn recently. I knew right away that I wanted to make a huge, squishy pillow with it! So the Marshmallow pillow was born! I used just under 5 skeins to make it and it ends up being a really decent size. I also was lucky enough to have an unused pillow insert that I was able to use (18×18″). I hope you guys like the Marshmallow Pillow! Be sure to tag me on Instagram if you make it so I can share your work. 🙂
