The Willow Sweater- Crochet Raglan Sweater

I love a good crochet raglan sweater! Are you a fan of top down designs? Or do you like working from the bottom up?  The Willow Sweater is top down or “raglan” style! I haven’t really made too many crochet patterns from the top down. It was fun being able to try it on as I went!

This sweater has no seams and no sewing. Thats definitely a plus. I have to admit though, I don’t mind sewing pieces together and I think my favorite will always be bottom up sweaters in separate pieces. Each time you finish a panel it’s like checking off a task and it seems to go quicker for me!

I love the look of a cozy cowl on a crochet raglan sweater but you could also easily leave it off. It would save you yarn, time and be less bulky in the warmer months!

Sweaters are definitely my favorite thing to design. Check out these free ones on my blog! The Coffee Shop Cardigan, The Cozy Boyfriend Cardigan, and The Color Block Cape!

The Coffeeshop Cardigan

I’m super excited to be bringing you guys the new and improved Coffeeshop Cardigan! This pattern was one of my very first designs and was always a huge hit + top seller. It definitely needed a little face lift and some larger sizes added to it. It’s crazy how much you learn as a designer in just a couple of short years!

I’ve added more sizes to the design so now it goes from XS all the way to 5X! I also updated the construction of this sweater so there is a lot less seaming and sewing pieces together. Now, there is only 2 small sections up the side to seam. YAY! The sleeves have NO seaming!

The Coffeeshop Cardigan was inspired by all things cozy. It’s the perfect housecoat to throw on over leggings and an oversized tee. The homespun yarn gives it the perfect amount of rustic handmade feel. The pattern uses half double crochet throughout for easy stitching.

I’m so excited to finally share the Skyscape Shrug with you all! Its very simple. If you can make a rectangle then you can make this sweater! It’s the perfect project to work on while binging your favorite show on Netflix because you repeat the same few rows over and over! It is also super easy to customize. This design was inspired by the chunky oversized sweaters you see at the mall. I wanted it to be something you could throw on with leggings and a tee. The Boucle yarn gives it just the look I was going for! I know the Boucle yarn can sometimes be intimidating but if you take it slow, use stitch markers and count by feeling your stitches you will be fine!

Materials:

  • Baby Soft Boucle (bulky,5) Skeins needed 9(10,11,11,12,13,13). 1040(1120,1210,1290,1360,1450,1500) yards. I recommend buying the kit here.

Pattern: Summer Nights Shawl

Is it summer yet?! Nope, it’s not even spring yet. lol. I’m hoping that if I make all of the warm weather things it will force the sunshine to come. Let’s see if it works. 🙂 The Summer Nights Shawl is a super fun and quick make to work up while you’re netflixing. It’s a very easy mesh stitch with a simple repeat row. It’s worked up double stranded with the light and superfine yarn. If you don’t have both yarns available, I recommend using just a basic worsted weight yarn!

Be sure to follow me on Instagram and tag me with your finished shawl! I love to share your work with my followers. 🙂

Pattern: Giant Granny Square cushion

When BeCozi sent me some of their super soft and cozy Chenille yarn, I knew I had to make something awesome with it! I know big chunky blankets are popular with this yarn but I wanted to do something a little bit different. I decided to go with a floor cushion for the girls to sit on (or who am I kidding…the dog to sleep on lol) but I didn’t want it to be basic and boring. I love granny squares so I knew I had to incorporate that into my design! I hope you guys enjoy the pattern.

Be sure to pin for later and tag me on Instagram so I can see your work!

Materials:

Notes:

  • Cushion is made in 2 panels and slip stitched together.
  • The front panel is a classic granny square. The back panel is double crochet rows.
  • The Ch 3 at the beginning of each round and row counts as 1 Dc.
  • The Ch 4 counts as 1 Dc and 1 Ch.

Pattern: Chain-Link Crochet Beanie

It’s a new year which means a bunch of new free patterns on the blog! I have a lot of fun stuff in the works for you all and to start it off i’m posting this super chunky beanie! Now, this beanie is a tiny bit different because i’m using a stitch that’s not technically a real stitch, I guess you could say. You’ve heard of the Center single crochet or “waistcoat” stitch right? well this uses that stitch except it’s “extended”. I’ve just added one more yarn over in the stitch. Below are a couple of video tutorials for you to get a visual. I promise its super easy!

Don’t forget to PIN the beanie and tag me on Instagram with your makes! 🙂

Materials:

  • Super Bulky (6) Yarn. Pattern uses Lion Brand Hometown USA. 130 yards needed for adult size.
  • 9.00mm Crochet Hook
  • Yarn Needle
  • PomPom (optional)
