Notes:

  •  Row 1 in the graph counts as both the forward pass and return pass for each row in the pattern.
  • Each forward pass ends with an edge st.
  • Each return pass begins with a Ch 1.
  • You will be working in the 2nd Ch from the hook in each row.
  • You will NOT be turning your work after each row. The correct side of your work is always facing you.

Stitches and Terms Used:

Knit Stitch- *Insert hook into indicated St, pull up a loop* repeat across.
Bind Off- *Insert hook into indicated St, YO, pull through both the stitch and the loop on your hook.* Repeat across
Return Pass- Ch 1. *YO, pull through 2 loops on hook* Repeat across row until you have 1 loop left on hook. The return pass is made after every row “forward pass”.
Edge St- The edge stitch will be made just as a normal tunisian knit stitch. The only difference is, you will stick the hook under both vertical bars on the end instead of just the top vertical bar. This creates a cleaner stitch.

Finished Size: 12”x12”

Gauge:  4″x4”square= 10 knit stitches by 11 rows

Pattern (front panel):

Ch 27

Row 1 (foundation row): Starting at the bottom right corner of the graph- Starting in the second Ch from the hook, insert hook into back “bump” and pull up a loop. Repeat in each Ch across. (27 loops on hook.) Return pass- Ch 1. *YO, pull through 2 loops.* repeat across row until you have 1 loop left on hook.

Rows 2-27: Continue following the graph and the color changes using the knit stitch. Remember, each forward pass ends with an edge st.

Row 28: Bind off.

Back Panel:

Sew Panels Together:

Place your panels wrong side together. With the front panel facing up, join yarn with a Sl St to the upper right corner. Ch 1. Working through both the front and back panel, *make 1 Sc in each St across. When you reach the corner, work 3 Sc into the same St.* Repeat around until you reach the first St, Join with a Sl St. Tie off. Be sure to stuff pillow before closing completely.

Optional Picot Trim:

Join second yarn color to the corner of your pillow with a Sl St. *Work 1 Sc into the next 4 stitches. Ch 4, Sl St back into first Ch.* Repeat around. Tie off.
