The Hazel Ridge Wrap Crochet Pattern

I had so much fun making the Hazel Ridge Throw crochet pattern that I wanted to make something I could wear too! The Hazel Ridge Wrap crochet pattern is the cute wearable version. Easy to make, beautiful textured stitches and light weight for a comfy wear all year long.

The Hazel Ridge Wrap crochet pattern is made from side to side in 2 identical rectangular panels. You’ll seam up the back to join and a small seam under both arms. That’s it! Super easy and satisfying to make. I love when the construction is simple and easy to complete. If you made my throw blanket then you might recognize some of the fun and textured stitches I used in this wrap. I kept mine a solid color but I think striping it like I did my blanket would also be soooo cute!!

The side to side panels are identical. Just make 2 of the exact same thing! You can easily adjust the length and width if you need to. If you want your wrap longer or shorter, be sure to adjust the foundation row. Add or remove stitches in multiples of 9. If you want it wider, just keep adding rows to your panel. Then Be sure to do the same thing to the second one as well.

I used Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton DK yarn to make my Hazel Ridge Wrap crochet pattern. If you follow along on my blog then I am sure you know by now that it’s one of my summer favorites. They have lots of different cute colors to pick from. If you are purchasing the kit, then be sure to check out all the options! You also get a free copy of the printable pattern download.

I know what it’s like to be a beginner and need a visual of the pattern. That’s why I love to make video tutorials to include within my patterns to help guide you through. Be sure to check it out if you need a little extra help!

Notes:

  • Pattern is made from side to side in 2 identical rectangular panels.

  • The Ch 1 and Ch 2 at the start of the rows do not count as a stitch.

  • When the pattern indicates to work “in St from 3 rows below”, you will work your Dc into the top of the St from 3 rows below (the top of the second skipped Dc). When you pull up your loop, pull it up a bit higher than normal to your current rows height. You will do this in Row 4 and all of its repeats.

  • Each size listed will end on a different row repeat, giving the outer edges of each wrap a unique look.

  • To adjust the length of your wrap, add or remove Sts to the starting row in multiples of 9. Take into account this will alter the required yardage listed above.

  • To adjust the width of your wrap, add or remove any amount of rows to each panel. Take into account this will alter the required yardage listed above.

Assembly-

Block your panels to the measurements listed above. I did a light steam block. Place both panels together, RS facing, with Row 1 of both panels aligned. We will be seaming part of Row 1 of both panels together to create the back of the wrap. Locate the halfway point on Row 1 of your panels. Measure about 2-3” from that center point (doesn’t matter which way) and place a SM. The side with the longer measurement will be your front panels and neckline opening. The side with the shorter measurement will be your back panel that you are seaming up. With your needle and a piece of yarn, seam from the SM down to the bottom hem.

Next we will create the armhole openings and side slits. You can make adjustments here and decide how large you want your armhole openings and how long you want your side slits. Or, follow along with the suggested measurements.

Fold your panels in half, RS facing. Your back seam will be a 2-3” short of the halfway point. Measure from the folded halfway point (shoulder) down the side of your first panel approximately 7.5(8, 8.5, 9, 9.5, 10, 10.5, 11, 11)”. Place a SM. Now measure about 3-4” from the SM down and place a second SM. Seam from the first SM to the second SM. Repeat the same process on the opposite side.

Picot Edging-

With your wrap RS up, join yarn with a Sl St to the bottom corner of the back panel. Exact St count is not crucial here. Just be sure to evenly space your Sc Sts throughout. You will leave a small Sp in between each Sc St made.

Row 1: Ch 1, 1 Sc, *Ch 3, Sl St into the first Ch, 1 Sc, leaving a small Sp between the previous Sc made*, repeat from * to * across the bottom of the panel until you reach the opposite corner, fasten off.

Repeat the same process on the bottom of both front panels.

Weave in any remaining ends.
