Coming at ya on the first weekend of spring… The Bonfire Beach Hoodie! You might be thinking that this design looks a little bit familiar. Well it should because it’s the sister design to The Happy At Home Hoodie!
The Bonfire Beach Hoodie is shorter and lighter in comparison to The Happy At Home Hoodie. It’s also not quite as oversized. I use the same stitches and the same basic construction for this top.
I left side slits on my Bonfire Beach Hoodie but you can easily sew those up when making your top if you would rather not have them!

Description: The Bonfire Beach Hoodie is perfect to throw on during a warm summer day. It uses Hdc throughout for an easy make. The slightly oversized boxy fit makes it extra comfy to wear all day.
I might have a little obsession with hoodies. Especially cozy ones. And this one might be the coziest one yet. Meet The Hawthorn Hoodie!
This Hoodie uses a super soft yarn from Lion Brand called Let’s Get Cozy: Chenille Appeal! I loved working with this yarn and think the finished texture of The Hawthorn Hoodie is amazing! There are lots of pretty colors to pick from as well.
If you want your hoodie to be longer or shorter, you can easily add or remove rows on the front panel before shaping the neckline. Just make sure you add or remove the same amount of rows to the back panel as well. Don’t forget this will alter the amount of yarn required. You can also leave the pocket off the front as well although I think it ties this design together perfectly! My favorite part of The Hawthorn Hoodie is the oversized cozy hood.
You’ll be using Hdc stitch for most of this design so the panels work up quickly! This yarn has a fluffy texture but overall I found it easy to work with! It’s finally here! The Happy At Home Hoodie has been anticipated by so many of you and i’m so excited to release it. Sometimes you just have a design in mind that comes together exactly how you wanted it to and this was one of them! I pictured an oversized hoodie with wide ribbing and a soft lightweight feel. The slits on the side somehow make it even better than I imagined.
I used Lion Brand Coboo to make this hoodie. It’s one of my all time favorite yarns! You can check out The Bobble Crop Top which I made using Coboo. I also have some other designs coming soon using it!
I hope the Happy At Home Hoodie pattern brings you some much needed crochet therapy while we are all quarantined to our homes. It brought me so much joy to make and I know this will be one of my pieces i’m most proud of for years to come.
