Pattern: Fab Faux Crochet Scarf

This Fab Faux Crochet Scarf was super fun to make! I wanted something warm and cozy to go around my neck and give it almost a cowl feel when its wrapped! I made this scarf in only a couple of nights, so you can definitely knock some out for holiday gifts quickly!

The main portion of the scarf uses the moss stitch. It gives it some gorgeous texture and is very simple to do! If you’ve never used “Go For Faux” before this scarf is a great beginner project for it. You are doing short rows of double crochet with it so it’s pretty easy to count your stitches.

Would you rather try out this scarf in knit? Well, good news! I have a free knit version available as well HERE!

Pattern: Fab Faux Knit Scarf

You guys. I designed my first knit pattern! I tried to teach myself how to knit years ago but never got the hang of it. I tucked my needles away and decided to try crochet instead which I immediately fell in love with. Well recently I’ve been working on knit projects and I think I’ve finally got it down!

This pattern is verrrrrry beginner friendly. No increasing. No decreasing. No shaping. No seaming. You literally knit the entire thing. You do need to know how to switch yarns and needles but it is easy peasy! I’m so excited to introduce to you guys the Fab Faux Knit Scarf!

The Stonebridge Set Crochet Pattern

I can’t believe it’s already November and cold enough for my annual Beanie and Mitt set! Last winter I released The Winter Moonlight Set and this year is The Stonebridge Set crochet pattern!

I wanted to do something a little bit different than your typical beanie. I decided to construct it in more of a “bonnet” style and add a tie with little poms on the ends! You’ll start the beanie by creating the ribbing in rows, then crocheting your first row into the sides of the ribbing rows made. You’ll continue the first several rows back and fourth before joining the piece together and crocheting the remaining beanie in joined and turned rounds. Don’t forget the turn! It’s very important to do so within the pattern.

The fingerless mitts uses the same stitches but worked up slightly different. The ribbing is made the same as the beanie but you will immediately join together and worked in turned rounds throughout the entirety of the main body of the mitt. Take note of the thumb hole round! This will be slightly different for the left vs. the right mitt. Other than that, both left and right will be the same!

I used worsted (4) weight yarn for this set. The main color A is Lion Brand Skein Tones in “Ivory or Basic Stitch Anti-pilling in “ecru” (these are the same colors and either one will work) and Color B is Ferris Wheel in “Morning Java”. If you want your fingerless mitts to have the same color stripes, be sure to start on the same color within the ferris wheel skein. You’ll have to pull the yarn out and cut so you can start at the same point! Other than that, no need to worry about rearranging the colors as they stripe on there own! You can find this yarn in the Lion Brand kit along with a free copy of my PDF pattern!

The Winter Moonlight Set

I have to crochet a beanie and mitt/scarf set at least once a year. Making these cute little sets is definitely one of my favorite things to crochet! This year I decided to go with something solid and neutral colored. The Winter Moonlight Set has to be my new fave so far!

I new exactly what stitch I wanted to use for this set from the get go. I’ve only ever worked this stitch in rows so it was fun to design with it in the round and a bit of a challenge to figure out how I wanted to decrease it since technically there is no easy way to do that with this stitch repeat. I think it worked out beautifully though and I’m happy with the result. Both the mittens and the beanie are worked from the bottom up. You will begin with the ribbing before moving onto the main body of the pattern. Once you get past the ribbing you will be working the rounds in turned rounds. SO join with a Sl St, Ch 1 and don’t forget to TURN! Very important to the integrity of the stitch!

I used Lion Brand Color Theory yarn. If you haven’t tried it yet, you should! Lots of pretty colors and the texture is nice and soft. I used the color Moonbeam for mine but there are a bunch to chose from! You can check them out here. The Winter Moonlight Set is available as a kit with Lion Brand as well. You get all the yarn you need plus a free copy of the PDF digital download. Be sure to grab one for the best deal!

Coastal Shores Wrap Crochet Pattern

Have you seen the beautiful Scarfie yarn colors that Lion Brand has? When I saw the Seafoam/Clay color I totally fell in love. I got some and decided to use it for a future project. That future project turned into the Coastal Shores Wrap! I actually worked on this design while I was visiting family at the beach. I played around with a few different stitch ideas but ultimately settled on a beautiful ripple stitch because it reminded me of the sunrise/sunset on the coast!

The way that the colors changed so perfectly in this project made me so happy. It really did give me warm, beachy sunset vibes. There is a ton of different color options in this yarn that I think would look so great!!

Once you get the stitch repeat down the Coastal Shores Wrap is a really relaxing project. It worked up so quickly for me and was really fun to do. If you need any extra help be sure to check out my video tutorial!

The North Winds Set

The North Winds Set is here! I’m thinking It’s going to be great for Christmas gifts this year. Beginner friendly and fast to make but also kept my interest throughout with the subtle stitch changes!

The striping on the scarf and beanie are my favorite part. And believe it or not, I had almost no ends to weave in when I was finished! Every time I had a color change for the scarf I cut the yarn, tied a knot and worked my stitches directly over the ends. This worked out amazingly and I’m so glad I did it so I had wayyy less ends to weave when I was done!

Heartland yarn is one of my favorites and It’s what I used for both patterns! The yardage listed below is enough to make at least 1 hat and 1 beanie, including a pom and fringe!

I made a full video tutorial for both patterns as well. You can find the beanie tutorial here and the scarf tutorial here. Be sure to check them out if you need any extra help!

I love that there is both a knit and crochet version. So depending on your craft you can pick which one you want to do! Most of you know me as a crochet designer buuuuut SURPRISE! I designed a knit square not a crochet one. Shocker I know! lol. I actually tried to learn how to knit before I started crocheting!

If you don’t already have it- get the knit kit from Lion Brand here!

Or you can grab the crochet version!

If you prefer a low cost ad-free printable PDF you can grab it from my Ravelry shop ($1)

The Dotted Wrap Crochet Pattern

I’m not usually one to make shawls or wraps but I thought this yarn would be perfect for a spring wrap! The Dotted Wrap uses a Fine (2) weight yarn which makes it perfect for a lighter spring accessory. I used the color “Blue Thunder” from the Dotted Line yarn by Lion Brand!

I was on the fence about making a triangle shawl but ultimately decided to go with something a little different than the norm! I’m really glad that I went with a parallelogram shape! Check out my Summer Nights Shawl! It’s the only other shawl/wrap i’ve designed.

I used a really fun and basic pattern repeat throughout the wrap. Once you get past the increase section it’s smooth sailing. Even the increase and decrease area are easy since you are only adding or taking a way 1 stitch on 1 side of your work.

Pattern: Summer Nights Shawl

Is it summer yet?! Nope, it’s not even spring yet. lol. I’m hoping that if I make all of the warm weather things it will force the sunshine to come. Let’s see if it works. 🙂 The Summer Nights Shawl is a super fun and quick make to work up while you’re netflixing. It’s a very easy mesh stitch with a simple repeat row. It’s worked up double stranded with the light and superfine yarn. If you don’t have both yarns available, I recommend using just a basic worsted weight yarn!

Be sure to follow me on Instagram and tag me with your finished shawl! I love to share your work with my followers. 🙂

Materials:

  • Light (3) weight cotton yarn. Pattern uses Lion Brand Comfy Cotton in “whipped Cream”. 200 yards.
  • Superfine (1) weight yarn. Pattern uses Lion Brand Summer Nights in “blue Lagoon”. 215 yards.
  • 5.00mm Crochet Hook
