Racing Summer Tank Crochet Pattern

Summer is in full swing here and I knew I needed to design a comfy tank top to wear! The Racing Summer Tank crochet pattern is light weight, soft and quick to make! It has a cropped look to it but you can easily make it as long as you want! It’s racerback style on the back with spaghetti straps!

I used your typical single crochet V-St for this tank top. What’s a V Stitch? Sc, Ch 1, Sc all into the same space! You will work your V St into the V from the row below! Then just repeat throughout the pattern. Easy peasy. If you want a bit more length just repeat the V St row right before the shaping on the front panel. Be sure to add the same amount of rows to the back as well.

Pair it with some cute jean shorts or a long flowy skirt! The Coboo yarn I used comes in so many nice colors, so you have tons of options! Grabbing the kit from Lion Brand is such a good deal. Basically you are just paying for the yarn and you get the printable PDF for free! They usually have a sale or coupon code running so you can grab it even cheaper! Make sure you subscribe to my email newsletter, I frequently notify about these good deals!

Twist Of Summer Tank

I’m back again with another summer design! This time I made a square neck style tank top with Coboo yarn called The Twist Of Summer Tank! This design is definitely beginner friendly and a very easy make. I used the Lemon Peel stitch to work up the main body of this top. I love the beautiful texture this stitch creates, it’s one of my all time favorites! You might recognize it from my Harvest Pullover!

The Twist Of Summer Tank is worked up in 2 panels from the bottom up. You will create the ribbing first and then rotate to work the main body. Each panel is exactly the same. Next we will sew the panels together, add a quick trim and then crochet the straps!

It’s also super customizable. You can easily add some rows to make it a longer length top or remove rows for a more cropped look! Just adjust the length before tying off your panels.

New to crochet? Well no worries at all because I have a full video tutorial available! I’ll walk you through from start to finish on your own Twist Of Summer Tank!

Take Two Top Crochet Pattern

I’m so excited to share with you guys the “Take Two Top” as part of the Summer Must Haves with Lionbrand.com! This is such a fun collection of different patterns perfect for summer so definitely check them out!

I used a newer yarn from Lion Brand called “Low Tide”. This is a fun yarn with a chainette style construction. The reason why I named my tank the Take Two Top is because you only have to make 2 of the EXACT same panels to create it! The front and back are exactly the same and then seamed up the sides. The straps at the top are tied into cute little bows so no worrying about seaming there!

I may or may not have crocheted an entire tank top before ripping it out and designing this one in a second attempt or a “take 2”. 😉 All part of the design process! I’m glad I started over because the second time was a big success!

Getting photos of the Take Two Top was a little difficult while in quarantine. A lot of times I have to design pieces way in advanced and sometimes the weather is not prepared for a summer top Lol! Usually I would go to a local indoor studio if I’m taking spring/summer photos in the winter but had to skip it this time. First I tried (unsuccessfully) to get photos in my backyard. That ended up being a fail with all of the fencing and houses around. Then I tried taking photos in my house. I managed to get a few good ones but I still wasn’t completely satisfied. Thankfully, I was able to go to a local trail and get a few good shots in while staying at a safe social distance! 🙂

Crochet Pattern: The Charlie Tank

I’m super excited to release this pattern and check another wip off of my list! I wanted to make a simple tank top but also didn’t want it to be too boring. You’ll be working through the back loops only throughout the pattern to give it a little flair! I used Lion Brand Merino Silk Cotton for this pattern and really liked it. It’s considered a weight of (1) but I honestly think it passes as more of a Sport/Dk (2 or 3). You should be able to meet gauge with a heavier weight yarn, so be sure to check!

If you make one, tag me on Instagram so I can share your work! 🙂
