Give me all the cute little bows!! This blanket is perfect for all the girly bow fans out there! The Clara Throw crochet pattern is a C2C design and so fun to work up.
I’ve been seeing so many cute bow sweaters and beautiful bow hair clips recently and I knew I had to make a bow C2C design. The Clara Throw is worked from the bottom right corner to the top left corner. The pattern below includes both the written rows and the graph for easy stitching.
If you aren’t familiar with C2C it’s basically crocheting little squares out of Dc stitches over and over again, working diagonally! It is super addicting in my opinion and you can make so many fun things! Check out some of my past C2C designs like The Daisy Day Throw and The Mushroom Medley Throw!
I wanted to add a little something extra to The Clara Throw so I decided on tiny little bows along the bottom of the blanket. These are optional and easily customizable! You can add 1 in each corner, attach them randomly on the front or leave them out completely! I just thought they were so cute and added a little extra frill. If you plan on getting yarn for The Clara Throw crochet pattern I recommend checking out the kit! It comes with a free printable download of the pattern and the kits are often on sale!
If you need some help on C2C be sure to check out some of my past video tutorials. They will show you things like how to start the blanket, add in different colors and keep your yarn organized.
The Clara Throw crochet pattern is a charming new C2C blanket for all the bow lovers out there! It features a large bow in the center and tiny, frilly bows along the bottom, which are easily customizable. This pattern includes both a graph and the written pattern.
This is a Corner 2 Corner Pattern. If you are unfamiliar with this technique be sure to check out some C2C video samples in the link below!
The graph is read from the bottom right corner to the top left corner. You will be working diagonally and reading the rows from right to left and then left to right. Each square on the graph counts as one block. One block consists of one Ch 3 and 3 Dc.
You will begin the rows with an increase square until you reach the bottom left corner. When you reach the corner you will be decreasing on this side and continuing to increase on the other. Once you reach the upper right corner you will no longer be increasing on either side and will start each row by decreasing until you finish.
I recommend using separate balls/skeins of yarn when switching colors to eliminate having to cut and join yarn frequently.
Square (Sq)- Join to next Ch Sp with a Sl St. Ch 3. Work 3 Dc into same space.
Increase square- Ch 6 work 1 Dc in 4th Ch from hook. Work 1 Dc in each of the next 2 Ch.
Decrease square- Join to previous row with a Sl St. Turn. Work 1 Sl St into the top of each of the 3 Dc across square. Sl St into the ch 3 sp. Ch 3. Work 3 Dc into Ch Sp.
With your blanket RS up, join color B with a Sl St to the upper left corner.
Row 1: Ch 1, Sc evenly around the border of the blanket, working approximately 2-3 Sts per side of square. Exact St count is not crucial but you want to be careful to not place too many Sts and cause the border to be wavy, or too little stitches and cause the blanket to be pulled. Sl St to the first St made to join. Do not turn.
Row 2: Ch 1, we are going to be making 1 Sc into each St around, working from left to right. In the previous St to the right, inert your hook, YO, pull up a loop, YO and pull through 2. You’re creating a regular Sc just working backwards. Sl St to the first St made. Fasten off and weave in any remaining ends.
Bows (make 8):
With Color B
Row 1: 50 Fsc, fasten off. Alternatively, you can Ch 51 and work 1 Sc into the second Ch from the hook and each across for 50 Sc.
Weave in both ends.
Evenly space the Sc cords along the bottom of the blanket. Tie it together to create a bow, working it between 2 squares to secure.
Thank you guys so much for checking out my Clara Throw Crochet Pattern! I hope you enjoy making it just as much as I did!
