I know I’m not the only mushroom fan around here. If you’ve been to literally any store in the past year I’m sure you’ve seen cute little mushrooms on mugs, wall decor, pillows… I could go on and on! Who doesn’t love a cute whimsical mushroom?! The Mushroom Medley Throw is perfect to add to your mushroom collection or give to a mushroom fan! (how many times can I say mushroom haha)
If you guys have been following me for a while you know that I am a C2C crochet fan. I like to make at least 2 c2c crochet blankets every year. The Mushroom Medley Throw is my third this year! I designed The Daisy Day, The Squeeze The Day and now The Mushroom Medley! Be sure to check out all my other c2c patterns if you’re a fan too!
If you are new to C2C I recommend practicing with a smaller swatch before beginning a blanket! Once you understand how to make the basic squares it really is easy! You just repeat squares to grow your blanket, and decrease when you reach the corners!
You will also want to learn how to switch colors, join colors and how to manage all of the different balls of yarn attached to your work. If your yarn is organized as you go it makes the crocheting process so much easier! You will want to separate your colors and sections by using bobbing of some sort. I have more info on this in my YouTube tutorial. Be sure to check out the notes section below as well.
I hope you guys enjoy this pattern! It will be my last c2c pattern of the year!

Notes:
This is a Corner 2 Corner Pattern. If you are unfamiliar with this technique be sure to check out the video tutorial below.
The graph is read from the bottom right corner to the top left corner. You will be working diagonally. The odd number rows you read left to right and the even number rows you read right to left.
Each block on the graph counts as one square. One square consists of one Ch 3 and 3 Dc.
You will begin the rows with an increase square until you reach the bottom left corner. When you reach the corner you will be decreasing on this side and continuing to increase on the other. Once you reach the upper right corner you will no longer be increasing on either side and will start each row by decreasing until you finish.
I highly recommend using separate balls of yarn when switching colors to eliminate having to cut and join yarn frequently. I use bobbins to keep my yarn separated and tangle free.
20 squares (using the suggested yarn)= 5 grams. You can use this to calculate and weigh your yarn bobbins for the exact amount you need. For example, the first mushroom in the bottom right corner has 22 squares of harvest gold used. You can measure out just over 5 grams of yarn and wrap it around a bobbin for this portion. I use a kitchen scale to do this. You can also guesstimate the amount needed if you don’t have a scale but you may have to add in more yarn or make adjustments.
Square (Sq)- Join to next Ch Sp with a Sl St. Ch 3. Work 3 Dc into same space.
Increase square- Ch 6 work 1 Dc in 4th Ch from hook. Work 1 Dc in each of the next 2 Ch.
Decrease square- Join to previous row with a Sl St. Turn. Work 1 Sl St into the top of each of the 3 Dc across square. Sl St into the ch 3 sp. Ch 3. Work 3 Dc into Ch Sp.
