Pattern: Unicorn Dreams Afghan

Unicorns are a big craze right now with little girls, don’t you agree? I’m sure most people know somebody who is a unicorn lover! My girls inspired me to create the ultimate unicorn blanket and I’m so happy I did.

The Unicorn Dreams Afghan was a blast to make and actually works up pretty quickly for a blanket. The bulky yarn makes it extra squishy and soft. I held the Terryspun yarn double stranded for the unicorn. This is something you will want to do as well! It’s not thick enough on it’s own so be sure to hold 2 strands of yarn at the same time.

** Be sure you are holding the yarn DOUBLE STRANDED  for ONLY the unicorn head portion of the blanket. Color B or “terryspun” if you are using the same yarn as in the sample.

Trim:

Join Color B (holding 2 strands together at the same time) at any corner of the blanket with a Sl St. Ch 1. Work half double crochets evenly around the border of the blanket. When you reach each corner of the blanket, work 3 Hdc into the same stitch. Join to the first St made with a Sl St. Tie off.

Weave in all ends.

I had to get a couple photos of the girls posing with the blanket!

Evie is obsessed with it. It’s currently on her bed and she sleeps with it each night!

Penelope loves “petting” the unicorn since it’s so soft. 🙂

I hope you guys love this blanket as much as I do! Be sure to tag my on Instagram so I can see yours!
