Pattern: The Strata Beanie

Have you ever tried a mandala yarn before? I’m sure the answer to that question is probably a yes, right? 😉 Well, when I saw the Mandala Tweed Stripes from Lion Brand I knew I had to check it out. I don’t normally gravitate towards striping yarns but something about these colors were calling to me. I’m a sucker for tweed! Somebody mentioned in my Instagram comments that the colors remind them of strata layers and I have to say, I definitely agree! The Strata Beanie pattern is fun and quick to make.

I incorporated some surface stitching which I think gives it the perfect finishing touch. Plus there are so many different colors you can use for different holidays! Red and green for a christmas beanie, white and pink for Valentines day, or maybe even make it in your school colors! I think it would be great in your team’s colors too!

Shop the ad-free PDF digital download in my shops on Etsy and Ravelry.

Description: This Strata Beanie Pattern is worked from the bottom up. The brim incorporates slip stitching for the perfect amount of stretch. The surface stitches add just enough detail for a fun and unique look. It’s also super easy to adjust length for your desired fit.

Pattern: Fab Faux Crochet Scarf

This Fab Faux Crochet Scarf was super fun to make! I wanted something warm and cozy to go around my neck and give it almost a cowl feel when its wrapped! I made this scarf in only a couple of nights, so you can definitely knock some out for holiday gifts quickly!

The main portion of the scarf uses the moss stitch. It gives it some gorgeous texture and is very simple to do! If you’ve never used “Go For Faux” before this scarf is a great beginner project for it. You are doing short rows of double crochet with it so it’s pretty easy to count your stitches.

Would you rather try out this scarf in knit? Well, good news! I have a free knit version available as well HERE!

I think they would be perfect for holiday craft markets. I have visions of seeing them all hung on a mini tree displayed on craft tables! 🙂 A lot of people also brought up the idea of making a ton of them and stringing them up on a garland! There is finally a chill in the air! I woke up this morning and it was cold enough for a cozy sweater while waiting at the bus stop with Evie! I’ve been keeping this pattern a secret for sooooo long. I finally get to share with you guys my “Cozy Boyfriend Cardigan” which is part of Lion Brands, 12 Weeks Of Christmas! I know, I know. Christmas seems so far away but it’s never too early to start making gifts right? Especially when they are handmade and take a bit more time. Yay for slow fashion!

My Cozy Boyfriend Cardigan is available as a kit from Lion Brand at a super awesome discounted price of 40% off! Use code “SAVE40SEPT” at checkout.  Go snag yours now so you can get started! Did you know you get a free printed PDF of my pattern when you buy the kit? Yup.

If you have the yarn but still want a pretty PDF to print out, grab it from my Etsy Shop or Ravelry Shop.

This design was inspired by the chunky oversized sweaters you see at the mall. I wanted it to be something you could throw on with leggings and a tee. The Boucle yarn gives it just the look I was going for! I know the Boucle yarn can sometimes be intimidating but if you take it slow, use stitch markers and count by feeling your stitches you will be fine!

Materials:

  • Baby Soft Boucle (bulky,5) Skeins needed 9(10,11,11,12,13,13). 1040(1120,1210,1290,1360,1450,1500) yards. I recommend buying the kit here.

  • 6.00mm Crochet Hook

  • Yarn Needle

Crochet Pattern: The Charlie Tank

I’m super excited to release this pattern and check another wip off of my list! I wanted to make a simple tank top but also didn’t want it to be too boring. You’ll be working through the back loops only throughout the pattern to give it a little flair! I used Lion Brand Merino Silk Cotton for this pattern and really liked it. It’s considered a weight of (1) but I honestly think it passes as more of a Sport/Dk (2 or 3). You should be able to meet gauge with a heavier weight yarn, so be sure to check!

If you make one, tag me on Instagram so I can share your work! 🙂

Materials:

  • Merino Silk Cotton Yarn (1) Superfine. Color- Olive. Yards needed- 450(480,520,570,630,690,770)

  • 3.50mm Crochet Hook

  • yarn needle

Pattern: Granny Stripes Table Runner

I was recently given some gorgeous rainbow cotton yarn from Hobbii Yarn! I decided something with granny stripes would look super cute with all of the colors! This mini table runner fits perfectly on the playroom table. You can easily adjust the width and length to make it any size! I was soooo close to changing my mind and making a little blanket but I didn’t have enough yarn. 🙂
