Woodland Christmas Garland Crochet Pattern

It’s the most wonderful time of year! Well…almost!! But you can never start preparing too early! I don’t know about you guys but I love having a bit of handmade Christmas in my home. I always wanted to make a garland for my fireplace so I thought The Woodland Christmas Garland would be the perfect project to share with you all!

The Woodland Christmas Garland is a combination of mushrooms, trees, stockings and pompoms! I’ve been seeing mushroom decor all over the place lately so that is kind of what inspired this theme for my garland! I added some really cute woodland animals from JOANN, a cute mushroom snowglobe, some floral picks, and a really cute sign too! Along with that I draped a second garland from JOANN on my mantle with my crochet version for a double garland look!

Making the garland is really simple. You can mix and match any worsted weight yarn colors that you like. I went with the classic red, green, cream, brown and a pop of mustard! You only need small amounts of yarn for each pattern. Be sure to check out my video tutorials linked below if you need some extra help!

Then, using the same tail of yarn, poke up from the bottom through the mushroom top and then back down through the underside one stitch over. Creating the little spots on the mushroom. Assemble Garland:

Once you have all of your trees, mushrooms, stockings and pompoms made, it’s time to assemble them! Use your crochet thread or twine and yarn needle. Making sure your pieces are facing the same way, begin to thread through the top of them. You can arrange them however you would like I alternated each one with a pompom in between. You can make your garland as long as you want to. Tie a loop on both ends of the thread for easy hanging.

I used mini clear command strip hooks to hang my garland. I also bought some really cute Christmas floral picks and stuck them on the hooks to conceal them!

I found some other really cute Christmas decorations to go on my mantle too! Check them out below!

I hope you guys liked this tutorial and that It got you into the holiday spirit! Check out some of my other Christmas patterns here!

I just loved the garland. I made it and just love it. My husband was impressed with how cute it came out. I decided to sew little bits of sequins to the trees to just give them alittle pop!!! I love your projects and enjoy crocheting them. Keep them coming Rachel!!!! Many thanks and Merry Christmas!! Anne.
