Pattern: Covered In Cats Afghan

Is there a crochet stitch or technique you’ve always wanted to try but never got around to doing? For me, that was corner 2 corner crochet.

I always saw so many beautiful c2c blankets while scrolling through Pinterest and always thought to myself…”hmmm I need to give that a try.” Well, I finally did and I guess you can call me a c2c addict now!! I’m so excited to show you guys my Covered In Cats Afghan!

What do you think? 🙂

Materials:

  • Basic Stitch Anti-Pilling worsted weight (4) yarn. 10 skeins Silver Heather (1,750 yards), 6 skeins Black (1,010 yards)

  • 5.00mm (H) Crochet Hook

  • Yarn Needle

Gauge: 4X4” square= 5 tiles by 5 tiles

Finished Blanket Measurements: 52”X69”

Pattern Notes:

  • The graph is read from the bottom right corner to the top left corner. You will be working diagonally and reading the rows from left to right and then right to left.

  • Each square on the graph counts as one block. One block consists of one 3 Ch and 3 Dc.

  • You will be turning after every row.

  • Be sure to note whether the row is an increase or decrease row. This will be indicated in the written pattern.

  • I recommend printing the graph and crossing off each row as you go.

  • Color A- silver heather (main color), Color B- Black (secondary color)

I offer the fully written out pattern with row by row instructions. This is a ad-free pdf available on both Etsy and Ravelry. I know some people work better with written instruction verses just viewing a graph!

Trim:

With color A, work single crochet stitches evenly around the blanket. You will be making 3 single crochet into the same stitch at all 4 corners (to keep the corners from curling). You will be working approximately 3 single per block around the blanket. When you reach the bottom left side at rows 66-83 switch to Color B. Switch back to Color A for the remainder of the edging. Slip stitch into the first single crochet stitch to join.

Tie off and weave in all ends.

There ya have it! I hope you guys love this afghan as much as I do. I’m currently working on a dog version so be on the lookout for that!!

      Helllo,
They have the same amount because you have reached the bottom left corner and you are decreasing now. The written pattern you have will say (decrease or increase) letting you know. You will no longer be doing the Ch 6 and adding a block on that side.
