The Cambrie Cropped Cape Crochet Pattern

A couple of years ago I designed my Woodlands Blanket Wrap. I fell in love (and you guys too!) with the cozy, oversized feel of wearing something that almost felt like a blanket. It quickly became one of those pieces you can throw on and instantly feel warm and comfortable.

But as I kept wearing it, I started imagining a version with a similar construction that felt a little more refined and tailored for everyday layering while you are out and about. That idea eventually turned into the Cambrie Cropped Cape!

The Winter Moonlight Set

I have to crochet a beanie and mitt/scarf set at least once a year. Making these cute little sets is definitely one of my favorite things to crochet! This year I decided to go with something solid and neutral colored. The Winter Moonlight Set has to be my new fave so far!

I new exactly what stitch I wanted to use for this set from the get go. I’ve only ever worked this stitch in rows so it was fun to design with it in the round and a bit of a challenge to figure out how I wanted to decrease it since technically there is no easy way to do that with this stitch repeat. I think it worked out beautifully though and I’m happy with the result. Both the mittens and the beanie are worked from the bottom up. You will begin with the ribbing before moving onto the main body of the pattern. Once you get past the ribbing you will be working the rounds in turned rounds. SO join with a Sl St, Ch 1 and don’t forget to TURN! Very important to the integrity of the stitch!

I used Lion Brand Color Theory yarn. If you haven’t tried it yet, you should! Lots of pretty colors and the texture is nice and soft. I used the color Moonbeam for mine but there are a bunch to chose from! You can check them out here. The Winter Moonlight Set is available as a kit with Lion Brand as well. You get all the yarn you need plus a free copy of the PDF digital download. Be sure to grab one for the best deal!

The Whimsy Satchel Crochet Pattern

It’s been a while since I’ve made a crochet bag. The Whimsy Satchel is definitely a new favorite of mine! It’s perfect for quick trips out when you don’t want to carry a ton of stuff. It also works up super quickly!

I used a new yarn from Lion Brand called “Just Hemp”. This is a sturdy bulky weight yarn. It’s definitely the type of yarn I would recommend for bags/placemats/baskets over garments and blankets!

The Whimsy Satchel is worked almost entirely in one piece. You will start in the center of the front flap and make your half circle in rows. The front flap, top, back, bottom and front panel are all worked in one piece. The strap and sides are worked in one piece as well and then everything is sewn together. Make sure you check out the available photos if you get confused!

The Potters Throw Crochet Pattern

Did you know that Terracotta is Lion Brand’s color of the year? I knew that I wanted to design something using the color and thought it would be so pretty as a blanket! Terracotta means- “unglazed, typically brownish-red earthenware”. One of my followers on Instagram pointed this out and suggested the name “The Potters Throw” for my blanket! I thought it was so perfect!

I had some leftover Homespun Thick & Quick from my Snowcap Cardigan and thought it would mix in so well with this design. I alternated Wool Ease Thick & Quick with Homespun Thick & Quick every row and loved the texture it ended up with. I know you are probably thinking…”But what about all the ends you have to weave in?!” Well NO worries! All you have to do is tie a knot every time you change yarn colors. You will crochet an easy trim around the border of the blanket working directly over the ends! That means you have only a few to weave in! Handy, right?

I also realllly want to see this blanket made in black and white! How pretty would that be? If you purchase the Lion Brand kit you can customize your color choices! If you happen to make one in black and white be sure to tag me on social media so I can see!

I even made a full video tutorial for this blanket so be sure to check it out if you need help! Don’t forget to subscribe for more free tutorials!

The Midnight Dunes Set

When I got my hands on Lion Brand Merino Camel I knew immediately I wanted to make a matching beanie and fingerless mitt set. The super soft and fine yarn was perfect for the Midnight Dunes Set!

The colors reminded me of a nautical east coast chilly beach feel. I asked my followers on Instagram what they thought a good name would be and someone suggested The Midnight Dunes set! A really fitting name in my opinion!

This set is great for an advanced beginner. Maybe you already have the basics down and want to try out something a bit more challenging then scroll on down! You will be doing some color work and fun stitches.

I even made full VIDEO tutorials for both the beanie and the mitts! So if your still new to crocheting you can follow right along! You can find the beanie video here and the mitt video here!

The Easiest Crochet Cowl Ever!

Are you ready to make the easiest crochet cowl EVER? No joke, this cowl is fast, beginner friendly and even comes with a video tutorial!

I love being able to work with bulky yarn. There’s just something so satisfying about seeing your piece work up so quickly. And it’s even extra satisfying when you only have to use 1 skein!

I used Lion Brand + Two Of Wands new yarn “Hue + Me”. If you haven’t been able to try it out yet you need to get your hands on some! It comes in so many beautiful colors. I was able to try out a bunch of them and love them all!

This cowl is very beginner friendly. It would be perfect for somebody attempting their first project. They are also great to whip up really fast to sell at craft shows. Or maybe you have an online Etsy shop where you sell your finished work? These would be perfect for you!

I have another really quick beginner friendly pattern and tutorial if you enjoyed this one. Check out the Market Mitts written pattern here or the Market Mitts video tutorial here!

The Streetlight Cardigan Crochet Pattern

Is it really that time again? The Countdown To Christmas Campaign with Lion Brand has begun and I’m so excited to once again be featured in it! This year I’m sharing the Streetlight Cardigan with you guys!

This cozy bomber style cardigan flew off my hook not even kidding. It was SO quick to make because I used a bulky weight yarn! I also wanted it to be beginner friendly so there isn’t really anything tricky in this design either. I designed it for sizes XS-5X but it’s also really easy to customize your length if you wanted to!

You might notice the Streetlight Cardigan is a little similar to the pattern I made last year for this campaign- The Cozy Boyfriend Cardigan. What can I say, I have a thing for grey I guess! haha.

Saltwater Taffy Tee Crochet Pattern

I really can’t get enough of Lion Brand Truboo yarn. After making my Sweetpea Top with it, I knew I had to use it again! Since I had already used it before I knew whatever I was making would be super silky and drape perfectly. The Saltwater Taffy Tee was so fun to make!

I wanted to change things up a bit with the construction of this top so I decided to work the pattern vertically from side to side instead of bottom up! Have you ever made a crochet top this way before? I love the vertical striping of the stitches, I think it’s so slimming and works well on all body types!

The Saltwater Taffy Tee also uses 3 different colors of yarn. There are so many different color combos you could use that would turn out so cute! If you purchase the kit from Lionbrand.com you can pick any color you want and customize your own top!

Traveling Afghan Knit Square 13

I’m sure you know by now all of the details on The Traveling Afghan project put together by Lion Brand but I’ll give you a quick rundown just in case! This year long project involves 49 different crochet and knit designers to bring you two beautiful blanket designs- one knit and one crochet. Each designer is contributing a unique 10X10″ knit or crochet square design and sharing the pattern free on their blog! Each square has a fun story behind it that represents this designers life in yarn. This project started in January of 2020 and will continue throughout the year. I’m so excited to be the traveling afghan knit square 13!

I love that there is both a knit and crochet version. So depending on your craft you can pick which one you want to do! Most of you know me as a crochet designer buuuuut SURPRISE! I designed a knit square not a crochet one. Shocker I know! lol. I actually tried to learn how to knit before I started crocheting!

If you don’t already have it- get the knit kit from Lion Brand here!

Or you can grab the crochet version!

If you prefer a low cost ad-free printable PDF you can grab it from my Ravelry shop ($1)

Magical Market Tote

Im a huge fan of FAST patterns, what about you?! The Magical Market Tote works up in just a few hours. Maybe even less if you don’t take any breaks! Its double stranded and uses a few different large hooks for a quick make!

This mesh like bag stretches to a really decent size. When I was making it I didn’t realize it would lengthen so much when I put items into it. It reminded me of Hermione Grangers magical extended purse when I started putting things in…it can fit SO much. If you don’t want it to stretch to the long length that my bag is I would omit a couple of rows. Personally, I love how big it is!

I used Lion Brand 24/7 cotton for this bag, held double! I love this yarn for bags because its so sturdy. Have you used it before? A great substitute for this yarn would be Lion Brand Comfy Cotton! I used it for my beehive bag!

The Magical Market Tote is perfect for the beach, the farmers market or even used as a WIP bag! Be sure to tag me on social media when you finish yours so I can share!

Find The Magical Market Tote on Ravelry! Add it to your queue for later or share the love with a heart! 😉
