Surprise! I’ve been keeping this pattern a secret for a few months and i’m excited to finally release it into the world! The Clarissa Tee is a super easy and fun pattern. I have been wanting to make an off the shoulder style tee but still be able to be worn on both shoulders if desired!
The Clarissa Tee features a wide boat neck style neckline. I think it looks super cute paired with a lacy bralette underneath. It definitely gives me some retro vibes! I just need a side ponytail and some leggings to go with it now! haha! I tied it up with a little hair tie for some of the photos and just love the look of it!
This top has a mid length cut. If you are the type that likes longer style shirts then I definitely recommend adding some rows in before you start the neckline and shoulder shaping. I’m wearing the size small in photos and do not have any extra length added. Remember, you will need extra yarn if you add rows!
Description: This beginner friendly tee features a cute boatneck and a relaxed fit. You’ll be working the same stitch throughout for mindless crocheting. Wear it off the shoulder and tied up for 2 looks in one!

Notes:
This pattern is worked from the bottom up in 2 panels.
The Ch 1 does not count as a St.
Sleeves are added last working in the round. You will turn after every round.
The numbers in parenthesis at the beginning of the row are the row counts for each size. The numbers at the end of the row in parenthesis are the stitch counts for each size. It is helpful to print the pattern and highlight the numbers for your size before beginning.
You can make your top longer by adding as many rows as you want to the back panel. Be sure to add the same amount of rows to the front panel just before the “first shoulder” section. Take into account you will need to purchase extra yarn.
Esc- Extended Single Crochet- insert hook into indicated St, YO and pull up a loop, YO and pull through first loop on hook, YO and pull through both loops on hook.
Esc2tog- Extended Single Crochet 2 Together (decrease)- insert hook into indicated St, YO and pull up a loop, YO and pull through 1 loop on hook, insert hook into following St, YO and pull up a loop, YO and pull through 1 St, YO and pull through all 3 loops on hook.
Rows 74(76, 78, 80, 82, 84, 86, 88, 90)-76(78, 80, 82, 84, 86, 88, 90, 92): Ch 1, 1 Esc in each St across, turn.
Tie off, leave a tail approximately 20-30” long for seaming.
Opposite Shoulder-
Lay your front panel out in front of you, with finished shoulder on the right side. Count 20(24, 28, 33, 36, 41,46, 50, 54) Sts in from the left side at Row 68(70, 72, 74, 76, 78, 80, 82, 84) and join yarn with a Sl St.
Row69(71, 73, 75, 77, 79, 81, 83, 85): Ch 1, 1 Esc in same St and each remaining St across, turn.(20(24, 28, 33, 36, 41, 46, 50, 54) Esc)
Row 70(72, 74, 76, 78, 80, 82, 84, 86): Ch 1, 1 Esc in each St across until 2 Sts remain, Esc2tog, turn.(19(23, 27, 32, 35, 40, 45, 49, 53) Esc)
Row 71(73, 75, 77, 79, 81, 83, 85, 87): Ch 1, Esc2tog, 1 Esc in each remaining St across, turn. (18(22, 26, 31, 34, 39, 44, 48, 52) Esc)
Rows 74(76, 78, 80, 82, 84, 86, 88, 90)-76(78, 80, 82, 84, 86, 88, 90, 92): Ch 1, 1 Esc in each St across, turn.
Tie off, leave a tail approximately 20-30” long for seaming.
Seam Shoulders-
Place your front and back panel together RS facing. You will be seaming the shoulders together using the long tails of yarn left on the front panel. I like to use my crochet hook and Sl St across but you can also use a yarn needle and your stitch of choice. Sl St the first shoulder together at Row 76(78, 80, 82, 84, 86, 88, 90, 92) working through both panels. You should have 16(20, 24, 29, 32, 37, 42, 46, 50) Sl St. Tie off and repeat on second shoulder.
Seam Sides-
Place your front and back panel together, RS still facing. You will be seaming up the sides of the top, leaving a hole on both sides for the arm opening. Using your measuring tape, measure from the shoulder seam down the side of your shirt 6.5(7, 7.5, 8, 8.5, 9, 9.5, 10, 10.5)”. Place a SM. Repeat on other side. Be sure your SM is placed at the same row on both sides. These will be your arm openings, leave them unworked.
Join yarn with a Sl St to the bottom hem of your shirt. Sl St or sew up the side of your shirt, stopping when you reach the SM. Be sure your rows are lined up on both panels. Stop frequently to check as you go. Repeat on opposite side.
Neckline Trim-
With your top RS out, join yarn with a Sl St to any St. I like to join mine just to the left of the right shoulder seam. Ch 1, work Sc stitches evenly around the opening of the neck. Sl St to the first Sc to join. Stitch count is not crucial here. Tie off.
Sleeves-
With your top RS out, join yarn with a Sl St to the left of the underarm seam. Note- St count is not crucial here. Be sure to work the same number of stitches on both sleeves. Try to keep your stitches evenly spaced. You will be working into the sides of the rows for Row 1, place your stitch where it feels most comfortable. You will be turning after every round.
Round 1: Ch 1, work Esc stitches evenly around the opening of the arm hole, join to the first St made with a Sl St, TURN.
Rounds 2-6: Ch 1, 1 Esc in each St around, join with a Sl St, turn.
Tie off and repeat on opposite side.
Weave in all ends.
