The Mountain Sunrise Throw

I’m hosting a Crochet Along! I’m so excited you guys, it’s been a while since i’ve done a CAL and I’m pumped to be hosting one for The Mountain Sunrise Throw! Keep reading for all the info you need on where to join the CAL and the next steps to get started!

The Mountain Sunrise Throw is easy breezy to work up, beginner friendly, has bouncy stitches, amazing drape and is FUN to crochet!! I hope you guys are excited to crochet along with me!

What do I do first?

The CAL officially starts on March 20th 2023! I wanted to give you guys plenty of time to get all of the materials before we start.

Yarn, pattern and Hook are secured! What next?

Head on over to the Stitch Together Official facebook group to join! This is where I’ll be hosting my crochet along for the Mountain Sunrise Throw. When we start on the 20th you can ask any questions here, share your WIP and win some awesome PRIZES! I’ll be posting chances to win things like gift cards and yarn!

Find all the info you need below on materials-

Description: The Mountain Sunrise Throw is the perfect blanket to toss on the back of a chair to add a pop of color to a room! This throw has a beautiful bounce and drape. It uses a large hook to work up loose, oversized stitches. Using the super bulky yarn and big hook, you’ll have your throw worked up in no time!

Materials:

  • Super Bulky (6) Weight Yarn, Wool Ease Thick & Quick in Spice Market, 7 Skeins or 609 yards

  • P/Q 15.00mm Crochet Hook

  • Needle

  • Scissors

Finished Measurements:

44” W by 48” L

Gauge:

5 Sts by 4 rows= 4×4”

To make a gauge swatch, Ch 11 and work rows 1-5 of pattern. Measure within that swatch to check gauge.

Gauge is not crucial to the integrity of the pattern.

Ch(s)- Chain(s)

YO- Yarn Over

Sc- Single Crochet

St(s)- Stitch(es)

Sp- Space

Notes:

  • This blanket is worked in rows from the bottom up.

  • The Ch 2 at the start of the row does not count as a St.

  • The Ch 1 within the rows is included in the St count listed at the end of the row.

  • This is a very stretchy St. Your throw blanket will stretch larger with the weight of it.

  • To adjust the width of your blanket, add or decrease the starting Ch count of 57 in multiples of 2. Take into account your yardage requirement will change.

  • To make your blanket longer or shorter, add or remove as many rows as desired. Take into account your yardage requirement will change.

Pattern:

Ch 57

Row 1: Insert hook into 3rd Ch from hook, YO, pull up a loop, insert hook into following Ch, YO, pull up a loop, YO, pull through 2 loops on hook, YO, pull through final 2 loops on hook, Ch 1, *insert hook into next Ch, YO, pull up a loop, insert hook into following Ch, YO, pull up a loop, YO, pull through 2 loops on hook, YO, pull through final 2 loops on hook, Ch 1*, repeat from * to * across row, 1 Sc in final Ch, turn. (55 Sts)

Row 2: Ch 2 (does not count as a St),*insert hook into next St, YO, pull up a loop, insert hook into following Ch Sp, YO, pull up a loop, YO, pull through 2 loops on hook, YO, pull through final 2 loops on hook, Ch 1*, repeat from * to * across row, 1 Sc in final St, turn. (55 Sts)

Rows 3-48: Repeat Row 2.

If you have leftover yarn, you can continue to add repeats of Row 2 until you run out.

Fasten off, weave in all ends.
