The Hello Sunshine Afghan is finally here! I wanted this blanket to have old school retro vibes to it. I was super excited to find the exact colors I wanted in the Basic Stitch Anti-Pilling yarn. There are so many different color combinations you can go with though so i’m excited to see crocheters make this pattern there own!
I think some purples would be so pretty in this pattern. Maybe even light pastel colors as a baby blanket!
I’m a big fan of using C2C to work up different graphs. I have multiple blanket patterns available free on my blog as well as for purchase! A couple favorites are- Covered In Cats and Draped In Dogs!
The graph is read from the bottom right corner to the top left. You will be reading the rows from right to left (odd rows) and then left to right (even rows). The arrow before each row indicates the direction.
Each block on the graph counts as one square. One square consists of one Ch 3 and 3 Dc.
Each row will start off with an increase square until you reach the bottom left corner. Once you reach the bottom left corner every square on the left corner/side of the blanket will be a decrease square. You will still be increasing on the right side of the blanket until you reach the upper right corner. Once you have reached the upper right (second) corner you will be decreasing on both sides until the blanket is complete.
Please read the stitches and abbreviations section before beginning.
I recommend cross referencing the written pattern with the graph throughout.

CORNER (Left bottom) You will now be decreasing on the left side of the graph only. You are still increasing on the right side of the graph until you reach the upper right corner.
This is an awesome blanket and fills me with happiness when I look at it. I am going to keep trying c2c until it makes sense lol. I don’t know if it’s because I’m a lefty or just some difficulty in my brain but I have trouble with the diagonal nature of the patterns. I love love love how they look when finished though so I will persevere. Adding this blanket to my list of c2c to make in the top spot. Thank you so much!
