I’ve been so excited to try the “Scarfie Lite” yarn from Lion Brand for months! I knew I had to wait until I had the perfect project idea. What could be better than my annual hat/scarf set! The Boxy Blooms Bonnet Set ended up working perfectly with it.
Bonnets are so “in” this year. Funny enough, I have a bonnet style hat that I released a couple years ago, The Stonebridge Set. I love the look and fit of it so I knew a Boxy Blooms Bonnet was meant to be. And it wouldn’t be complete without a long and cozy scarf, would it?!
I love trying out new yarns so of course I was excited to stitch up something with this new Re-Make yarn from Lion Brand! The Towhee Cardigan crochet pattern might just be one of my new faves! It’s available in a kit (yarn and pattern) with Lion Brand!
The girls helped me name this cardigan, which I think is so fun. It was a beautiful sunny day and finally starting to warm up after lots of bad weather. We went on a family outing to a local trail for the cardigan photoshoot! Along the trail they have signs and photos talking about the local nature and wildlife. The last one we stopped at was for the Towhee bird! The girls were reading the sign when it popped into my head that it would be the perfect name!
This yarn was really nice to work with. It has such a soft texture making it super cozy. Because it’s starting to become spring time I wanted to go with a more open lace stitch for this design. It makes it the perfect cardigan for layering and transitioning into warm weather!
Am I really posting my first crochet pattern of 2025?! That is just crazy to me! I am so grateful to have you all here with me at the start of the new year. 🙂 First up, The Adagio Throw crochet pattern!
When I like the stitch/stitches of one of my previous designs I like to try and use it in multiple other patterns. First was the Echoes Cardigan which was one of my top patterns this past fall. I knew I wanted to make a beanie/scarf set that was similar but used 2 yarns instead of one for a striped look- The Arpeggio Set. I’ve known since making the Echoes that I was going to make a blanket as well, haha! I decided to keep the 2 yarn look for this one as well. You also just might be seeing an Echoes Pullover here in the near future, stay tuned!
A little bit about the blanket- It’s worked from the bottom up. You will be switching yarn colors every 2 rows. However, you do NOT need to cut that yarn. We will be creating small floats on the left side of the blanket which we will later crochet the border over to hide. Which means, you only have a few ends to weave in instead of a million! Simply leave your yarn color at the end of the row without cutting, when you come back to it, pick it back up and drop the other yarn! Be sure to check out my video tutorial if you need a visual of this. I walk you through the whole thing from start to finish!
There’s just something about stripes and fall that go together… at least I think so! 🙂 I knew I wanted to make some sort of striped sweater this season and that’s how we ended up with The Fall Fable Pullover!
I went back and fourth with deciding what kind of neckline to do and i’m so glad I went with a simple V-neck! I also went back and fourth with what colors I wanted to use. I was soooo close to using a forest green and cream color but I absolutely love how the nutmeg and cream turned out! Luckily there are so many color options with the kit! I can’t wait to see what colors everyone uses.
Cardigans and pullovers are definitely my favorite thing to design but bags are not far behind! You can never have too many cute bags right? The Sunny Cinch Satchel just might be your next favorite!
I love a good cotton yarn for crochet bags and purses. Pima Cotton has always been one of my favorites so I decided to use it for my bag but wanted to hold the yarn double stranded for extra sturdiness! Let me tell ya, I am obsessed with how it turned out! The yarn is soft and so nice to work with! Plus, this bag works up even faster with the double thickness!
If you plan on buying yarn I recommend checking out my lion brand kit! It comes with a free copy of the ad-free printable pattern and you can customize your yarn color. Subscribe to my newsletter to find out about 30% off sales!
A new version of the Foggy Shores Pullover is now available! This updated pattern uses a currently available yarn and includes a fresh video tutorial. You can find the new version here. This post remains up for reference and includes the original version made with the discontinued yarn.
You know I wasn’t going to leave you hanging! The Foggy Shores Pullover crochet pattern is here! One of my biggest requests I get when I make a popular cardigan design is to make a pullover version or vice versa. So when I released The Foggy Shores Cardigan a couple weeks ago I already had the pullover ready and waiting!
I did use a different yarn for the pullover version, Lion Brands Basic Stitch Anti-Microbial(DISCONTINUED)! It has some really cute colors and was very easy to work with! This is an Anti-Allergen yarn which I thought was pretty cool. It has long-lasting freshness for your projects while preventing odor, bacteria and allergens. You can grab this yarn as part of the kit with Lion Brand!(new version with Heartland yarn) The kit comes with all the yarn you need to make your Foggy Shores Pullover plus a FREE copy of the printable PDF pattern! You can also swap out your yarn colors.
The Foggy Shores Pullover crochet pattern is worked in separate panels from the bottom up. You can easily adjust the length of your pullover by adding or removing rows to the front and back panel. If you made the cardigan than you should already have the easy row repeat memorized! You’ll be using a mix of lemon peel stitch and hdc stitches!
Didn’t I tell you guys that there would be a matching pullover to the beloved Stony Shore Cardigan?! Well here it is… The Stony Shore Pullover! Haha, I had to keep the name the same obviously since they are sister designs. If you enjoyed the Cardigan design then you will definitely love the pullover!
The Stony Shore Pullover crochet pattern is constructed very similar to the cardigan. It’s actually a bit quicker to do because you don’t have to worry about pockets and the trim is a lot smaller! This is an oversized pullover! You do NOT need to size up to get this slouchy look like mine! I am wearing a size small in the photos. Be sure to check the size chart below and pick yours size via your bust size. If you want a less slouch fit, size down.
I used Lionbrand Jeans for the pullover instead of Heartland like I did in the cardigan. However, either one works great for this! So if you prefer Heartland you can still swap it out. Although, I’m in love with Jeans yarn and highly recommend it!
Description: The Stony Shore Pullover is the sister design to the Stony Shore Cardigan! It has a cozy oversized fit with cute balloon style sleeves. The stitch gives a beautiful and fun texture. Beginner friendly and fun to make!
